The Little Things - Creative Embellishments

 Good morning!
I am lucky to madly in love with my hubby still after 22 years of marriage and I love to create layout about him

so to create this layout I started by covering my Craft O'clock paper with clear gesso and allowed to dry.

I then used the small circles stencil with black ink and the crackled brick stencil with texture paste mixed with raw ocher, dark brown and olive green brusho powders to make the correct color.

I sprayed, misted and splattered different color of mists and the brusho brown powder to add more layers of color

I colored some cheese cloth with the same colorants

I inked and painted the chipboard pieces - the gears, the distressed chevron border, nested rectangles, and the distressed punchinella pieces then splattered with mists

I added some art stones I colored and some seed beads

I also wanted to add some journaling and hid it and used a gear as a 'pull'

the journaling reads:

Love is not the grand gestures that we see in movies.

Sure those big things are fun but its the million little things that Jon does that show me

how much he truly loves me.  He goes to bed with me at night when he is home,

even when he is not tired and watches videos on his phone with earphones on

because he knows I sleep better when he is in bed with me.

Its the picking of a random flower when he sees it to bring home to me just because

he wanted to see me smile.  It's the starting of the truck when it's cold to make sure

it is warm, when I get into it.  It's the every night phone calls when

I crawl into bed no matter where he is or what he is doing he answers

the phone when I call at night just so I can hear ‘love you good night’

It's the telling me he loves me no matter who is around - he is not embarrassed by saying it.

Its the holding my hand when we are walking, the opening of my door when we go out,

the ‘thank you baby supper was delicious’ even when it wasn’t.

It’s the answering of the phone in the middle of night when I call because I had a

bad dream or hugging me closer when he is sleeping next to me.

It’s the little wink he gives me because he knows I find that sexy, the way he kisses me,

the love you and miss you I hear every day he is on the road.

It is all these things and so very much more that I can not list because

there are not enough words for everything he does.

He taught me to not settle and expect more and he is everything

Be Yourself - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Many things have changed over the last two years including the education system. Our son only attended college for one semester then college became virtual. He graduated without a ceremony, his diploma was simply mailed. I wanted to capture the moment because we are so very proud of him and his achievements and we had a photo shoot with his diploma.

To create this layout:

Step 1 - tear one 12x12 sheet roughly in half and ink the torn edge then adhere to a full 12x12 sheet. Distress and ink the edges of both papers

Step 2 - Use your favorite ECD stencil (I used one from the Earth Patterns Stencil pack) and ink as shown above

Step 3 - die cut the grid and the number tag from the Planner Essentials 40

Step 4 - Die cut, ink and assemble 6 flowers and leaves of your choosing (I used the florals 1, 2, 8 and 11)
Step 5 - create a photo mat cluster of 3 4x6 mats
Step 6 - Add any other embellishments you wish and enjoy

Well Groomed - The Funkie Junkie Boutique

 Good morning!
I love to layer when I get to work with G45...their paper is perfect for layering with their wonderful designs!  I used the fabulous Well Groomed collection for my layout

It is not very often that Axle stays still long enough for me to take a photo so I usually have to wait till he is sleeping lol!  Don't you just love his smooshy face?

To create this layout:

Step 1 - Trim papers to the following sizes 12x12, 11.6x11.6, 10x10, 9.6x9.6, 5x12, 4x12 and a photo mat.  Ink all the edges of the papers.

Step 2 - Adhere all the papers down.  Use cardboard or 3D adhesive to add dimension under the 5x12 and the photo mat

Step 3 - Fussy cut the flowers and the well groomed image from patterned paper and adhere using 3D foam or cardboard

Step 4 - ink the edges of the banner pieces from the sticker pack and use 3d foam or cardboard to adhere and add an image from the ephemera pack.

Step 5 - Ink 4 of the paw prints from the ephemera pack and adhere

Step 6 - Add a couple of border stickers from the sticker pack under the photo!

I created this for the new challenge over at TFJB!

For this challenge the inspiration is animals or any type of living creature that you want to feature on your art!  This will showcase our love for our pets, animals and/or our insect friends!  Include a photo, stamped image, embellishment or pattern paper of a living creature in your art.

The overall winner will be offered the chance to be a Guest Designer at a future date at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Blog, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will go into the drawing for the chance to win a $25.00 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. There are also Top 3 Badges for three additional outstanding entries, chosen by the Design Team.
