This months designer challenge at Elizabeth Craft Designs is using hexagons! AND ECD has two different hexagon dies to choose from! The Stitched Hexagons (which I used) and the Fitted Hexagons
Here is my layout...
I wanted to keep it bright and fun and happy!
To create this layout
Step 1 - gather supplies - one full 12x12 sheet of patterned paper, and coordinating pieces of patterned paper (I used 7 Dots cotton candy dreams) stitched or fitted hexagon dies, happy (from the happy holidays die), Stitched rectangle die, adhesive and scissors
Step 2 - die cut 29 hexagons from coordinating papers in various colors and ink outside edges
Step 3 - cut one paper at 3 3/4 x 12 and another at 3 x 12, and three different sizes of pennants and fussy cut an image from the paper and ink outside edges
Step 4 - ink the outside edges of the 12x12 paper
Step 5 - adhere the 3 3/4 x 12 paper then the 3 x 12 in the center of the page
Step 5 - adhere the hexagons in a diagonal fashion going from the lower left side to the upper right side leaving small gaps in between.
Step 6 - die cut a rectangle for your photo mat and the word 'happy' and ink the edges
Step 7 - adhere photo mat and photo, pennants, fussy cut image (lower right side) and title to the layout
Step 8 - enjoy!
Here are some close ups
