Amazing Things - Creative Embellishments

 Good morning!
I really love to layer my elements to create visual interest and dimension.

I covered the 3Quarter Designs paper with clear gesso then added ink to the Clock Stencil, texture paste mixed with onyx Color Glow powder from 13 @rts, withe the brick stencil, then added some orange embossing powder while still wet and heat set.  Once dry I added the white washing to the brick stenciled mage.

I inked, painted and embossed the various sizes of Gears, Clock, and distressed chevron pieces.  I added some dyed cheesecloth, Acrylic Gears, and art stones to finish the layout.

I LOVE the title piece I cut from the papers....fits my son...he doesn't always see his worth but he amazes me.

The Best Way - The Funkie Junkie Boutique

 Good morning!
There is a new challenge over at The Funkie Junkie Boutique

Get your stencils out and go a little crazy for this challenge! Use them with inks, paints, glazes, mediums, or whatever else you wish, but use at least three different stencils in your project.

Here is my inspiration

I covered the Stamperia Alchemy paper with clear gesso

I started by inking the first stencil (from my stash - An AALL & Create Stencil) with black ink, I then used paint I made using clear gesso and the dark teal color from the Prima Finnabair Art Ingredients Mica Powder Set - Golden Hour with the Dot Fade Stencil and finally used texture paste mixed with the coppery color of mica powder using the School House Stencil

I layered some pieces of papers for the photo mats and fussy cut the title

I added some flowers made from the mica powders and water, a piece of Creative Embellishments chipboard and some Stamperia Alchemy Die Cuts.

I created a second cluster to create visual interest.

I normally create mixed media/grungy layouts, not very often I create cute or fun layouts BUT I had these really fun papers from Craft O'clock that were too adorable to not work with!

I used the Craft O'Clock Cosmic Adventures in layers

I fussy cut these images from some of the fun paper

I received this super cute charm and it was the perfect title for my layout!

Here you can see the dimension of layout!

Hello - Funkie Junkie Spotlight

 Good morning!

I am back to share a tutorial for a layout I created using MANY items from the Funkie Junkie Boutique!

I hope my tutorial inspires you to create!

To begin - gather all your supplies.  You will need 4 coordinatng papers, mist, stencil, clear gesso, flowers, a title, mica powder, cardboard and texture paste

1- cover your top paper with clear gesso

2 - then do some tearing in random areas.  I used the beautiful Garden House papers from Stamperia.  Keep a piece of the torn paper so you can tuck it in in later steps.  Also fussy cut some leaves from one of the papers

3 - If you do not have cardboard that is already showing the corrugated inside then tear a cover off

4 -tear the cardboard making sure there are no straight edges

5 - Dry brush the cardboard with white paint or white gesso then set aside

6 - cut two pieces of paper.  One at 2 1/2 x 11 and one at 2 x 11.  Distress the edges

7 - Use a stencil - I used the Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil with Grit Paste.  Heat set or allow to dry

8 - add mica powder to the stenciled areas then spritz with water

9 - heat set the colored areas

10 - take a set of 3 of the Wild Orchid small flowers and straighten the stems

11 - twist the stems onto the stem of the next flower to create a chain of flowers

12 - spray some flowers to match your project.  I used the mica spray I made in an earlier post and Tim Holtz Hickory Smoke.  Heat set or allow to dry.

13 - ink or pant your title piece (I forgot to take a photo of this step)

14 - distress the edges of all your papers then layer your top sheet onto your background paper and tuck the ripped paper from earlier in.

15 - add the cardboard from earlier

16 - layer the two pieces of paper you cut

16 - add your title and elements.

Here are some details shots

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you!

Happy Brthday Explosion Box - The Funkie Junkie Boutique

 Good morning!
There is a new challenge over at The Funkie Junkie Boutique
For this challenge showcase something in the middle. It can be a pop up card with a surprise in the middle, it can be a mini journal with pages inside, it can be anything that highlights the middle of something!

This is my inspiration

My moms birthday was on the weekend

I die cut the happy birthday and added to the flower cluster

I created the box in black cardstock then cut the Prima Painted Floral Paper.

I used more paper  to create the inside

I covered the inside roll part of ribbon spool with paper and ribbon then added a hoop to form a well and filled with flowers.  I used the Wild Orchid mixed color, Prima Painted Floral Teal Flowers and some from my stash.

I fussy cut a butterfly from one of the papers

Looking forward to seeing your entries
