Going Places - White Rose Crafts & Creative Embellishments

 Good morning!
I'm back to share a mixed media layout I created of our youngest son and one of his bikes!

I started by prepping the Craft O'Clock Age Of Technology paper with clear gesso

I then used texture paste mixed with Lindy's magicals powder (red hot poker orange) and the AALL & Create Spatter Stencil I then highlighted with Prima Wax

I wanted the Creative Embellishments Chipboard to be full of texture and color.  I covered all the pieces - Brick pieces, Bicycle Chain Borders, Large Gear Set, Gear set 5, and Bicycle Chains Set with texture paste then began layering colors with mists and paints

Saturday Showcase - The Funkie Junkie Boutique

 Good morning!

Today I am showcasing a few products available at The Boutique

To create this layout:

1) Gather 3 papers from the Stamperia Lady Vagabond Background

 2) Trim your top sheet to 11 x 12 and distress the edges creating a larger distressed area on the right side

3) Prep your paper with clear gesso and allow to dry or heat set

4) Distress your edges of your bottom sheet and adhere them as shown

5) Use the Tim Holtz Grit paste with the  Tim Holtz layering stencil then add some Rusty Patina Spray Stain

 6) Pounce your Speckled Egg distress pad a few times on your craft mat a few times, spray with water then using a fan brush splatter the ink on your stenciled surface

7) Cut 2 photo mats approximately at 3.5 x 7 and distress the edges

8) get your Prima Gears Mould, add some corn starch then paper clay

9) remove the gear from the mould and allow to dry

10) cover with clear gesso

10) Start having some fun with mists and paints on the paper clay gears and flowers. I used Salvaged Patina stain, Salvaged Patina paint, Jackolatern, Crooked Broom stick and a brown from my stash

11) Adhere everything together, add some art stones, gems and Stamperia Clear Die Cuts

Love You- The Funkie Junkie Boutique

 Good Morning!
There is a new challenge over at The Funkie Junkie Boutique...The seasons are changing and the cold greys and browns of winter are giving way to the warm greens and colors of spring! For your challenge highlight contrasts in your project. It could be themes, colors, textures or forms. We are looking forward to seeing your creative interpretations and juxtapositions of things that are contrasting!

There are many different ways to achieve contrast!  In my layout I achieved it by using bright colors in the flowers against the more muted background paper, the industrial feel of the paper clay gears, the textures of the lace flowers, texture paste with the Stencil, and the paper.

I used texture paste with the stencil and colored with mists from my stash

I colored my flowers with mists

I added some colored art stones for more texture
