The overall winner will be offered the chance to be a Guest Designer at a future date here at The Funkie Junkie Boutique blog, and everyone who enters and follows the rules will go into the draw for the chance to win a $25 spending spree at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. Love This View - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Good morning!  I am so excited to share my next layout with you!
I understand many people avoid using flowers on layouts with masculine photos but I do not! I use flowers on projects about my husband and sons all the time!

To create this layout;
Step 1 - Cover your background paper with clear gesso and allow to dry.

Step 2 - using your favorite ECD stencil mix texture paste with your favorite colorant. I used a stencil from the Happy Patterns set and texture paste with brown brusho powder

Step 3 - using double sided sheets adhered to cardstock, die cut a mandala, elegant ornament (and keep the circle from the middle), 5 small stitched circles, the strip and 2 flowers ( I used the florals 13 and 10)
Step 4 - Mix together 2 silk microfine glitters that coordinate with your paper in equal amounts. (I used chocolate and blue) then use the glitter on the die cuts from double sided adhesive

Step 5 - Die cut 9 flowers from coordinating cardstock. I used the florals 8, 1, 11, 2, 13, and 10, ink, mold and assemble
Step 6 - Die cut a lacy leaves and cut them apart
Step 7 - Die cut 2 bubbles

Step 7 - Die cut the sentiment from the Sentiment Strip and assemble
Step 8 - Assemble everything as shown

I normally do not take photos in direct sunlight but I really wanted to show how beautiful the glitter looks!

Capture the Moment - Creative Embellishments

 Good morning!
I am excited to share my next layout with you!  Not only because I get to use my favorite chipboard from my favorite chipboard company - Creative Embellishments but I found this online store here in Canada (Scrapbook Centrale) that carries some of the scrapbooking brands that is harder to find here like Craft O'clock and 3Quarter Designs! So I got to play with yummy CE chipboard AND some papers I have wanted from Craft O'clock and since it is September 1st I also got inspiration from the September challenge at Creative Embellishments!

To create this layout:

1 - cover your background paper with clear gesso.  To avoid warping I always cover both sides, then put my teflon sheet and glass mat to weigh it down.  Once dry ink the edges

2 - Use your favorite CE stencil to form a 't' across your page (I used the Small Square Stencil) with light paste mixed with coordinating colorant (I used Lindy's Screaming Banshee) allow to dry or heat set

3 - use coordinating mists or powders on the stenciled areas I used terracotta, dark brown, yellow ochre and burnt sienna brusho powders

4 - die cut or fussy cut 9 tags and ink edges

5 - ink your title piece and a distressed clock piece I inked in black

6 - using the powders from earlier apply some to those two pieces of chipboard and heat set

7 - Apply clear gesso to your chipboard accent pieces including the camera from the title piece and allow to dry or heat set.  I used the Grunge Harlequin border and a clock hand.

8 - apply the powders you used earlier to the chipboard pieces and allow to dry or heat set.

9 - Mix one of the powders (I used yellow ochre) with texture paste and apply to chipboard pieces to add dimension and texture

10 - assemble as shown

11 - add some distressed flowers, seed beads and art stones to finish
