more blue Fern and Stuck?!

Hi!  I am back today to share another layout I created using awesome blue Fern Studios products and a stuck?! sketch!

I ADORE this photo of our Ty taking a nap!
The papers from the fabulous Tranquility line from Blue Fern Studios was perfect for this wonderful photo!

I created lots of distressed layers to highlight the photo

I cut the title from the calling card paper and added a few small flowers and some gems

I created a cluster using a Tim Holtz metal wing, some flowers, gems and a Blue Fern Studios chipboard butterfly

I inked the butterfly with ground espresso ink, embossed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang midnight brown embossing powder then added some Prima glass glitter in midnight blue.

Here is the stuck?! sketch I used

My second ScrapFX reveal

Good morning today I am back to share my second set of layouts I created for my guest spot at Scrap FX!
Mojo hit me at night to create my next layout so I could not take photos of my process.....but the end product is a lot of fun!

I used the Anchor and Chain, Shells, and the phrase

To alter them I used 'Squeezed lemonade' distress ink and dandelion yellow embossing powder and
Prima Opal Magic pink- blue

'Moments to Remember'

I did some wet distressing by trimming my papers then spraying the Bo Bunny papers with water, crumpling them into a ball, then laying them out.

I tucked in the chipboard shells in the layers

I added the anchor and chain

This was a fun and cheery layout to create!

My final project I wanted to create another grungy feeling project...

For this one I used the 'together is a wonderful place' to be wordlet

I started by covering the  chipboard with gesso, then I used the Brusho colours in Burnt sienna and olive green.

I sprayed each piece with water....added the brushos  then spritzed with more water to create the grungy look I wanted

'Together is a Wonderful Place to Be'

The chipboard turned out pretty cool....

I altered some cheesecloth with the brusho's and tucked it in here and there then added some gold pearls to it and the flourish!

I added some flowers to the flourish cluster!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my Scrap FX projects

Blue Fern Studio's and Stuck?! sketch

Good morning!

As most of you already know I love Blue Fern Studio's and I love sketches so when I get to work with a fabulous sketch from Stuck?! sketches and Blue Fern studios products I am a happy camper!

I admit I have a tendency to hoard papers - and I LOVE the serendipity line from Blue Fern and when I saw the Stuck Sketch for August 1st I knew exactly what I wanted to use!

I took the negative sections of the Blue Fern Studios Harlequin panel and inked it with Rangers Ground Espresso.  I then randomly placed some Lindy's Stamp Gang Midnight Brown embossing powder.
I also used a stencil that I received in one of my Scraps Of Darkness kits with some modeling paste and a few prills.

The photo is of our youngest son on the day of his grade 8 graduation so the title piece from the Serendipity calling cards was a perfect fit.

Here is the sketch I used

I rotated it so I could use the photo I wanted.

My final project with the Oceans Tale kit

Good morning!

This is my latest and final layout using the Scraps Of Darkness
An Oceans Tale kit.

When I saw this Kaisercraft mermaid tales paper I fell in love!  It is so gorgeous!

I started by mixing some natural sand medium with some magicals from a previous kit, then applied using a stencil.  I used a white pen and highlighted the circles.  I added the tool from the main kit diagonally across the page.

I added some circles I cut from coordinating paper, the Prima Finnabair Art Ingredients Melange Art Pebbles from the elements add on, flowers from the floral add on and from a previous kit, shells from the main kit and some small pearls also from the elements add on. Adhered my photo and I was done!

Petaloo Guest Design Spot!

Good morning!
I am so excited to be guest designing for Petaloo!
Their flowers are so awesome and the ones I received in my guest package were the DIY paintables!  They are so much fun to work with and will always coordinate with your project!

The first projects I worked on is a 7gyspies solo shadowbox I received in my package.

I was so excited to start on it I forgot to take a photo of it! This is how it looked before but mine was brown!

The first step I did was cover it roughly with a paint that was sand color and add some modeling paste using a stencil

I also added some crackle paste - love that stuff!
Then I decided to add to colors I wanted by using the wonderful
Tattered Angels Denim Blue Glimmer Mist that was also in the package and another of my favorite products the Colourcraft Brusho Colours in burnt sienna.

Next was the fun stuff - I got to color the awesome flowers!
I used the DIY- Daisy Layers  Burlap-Canvas in Ivory, DIY-Mixed Textured Layers also in Ivory, DIY- Burlap Blossoms in Ivory,
DIY- Baby’s Breath Pick in White, DIY- Queen Annes Pick in Whit, and the DIY - Dogwood Canvas in white.  I used teh same products to color the flowers that I did the tray!

After I dried the flowers I used some matte gel to adhere some crushed glitter glass and prills to the tips of some of the flowers!

I added some shells, crushed glitter glass, and Prills and a piece of burlap behind the photo of my husband and our boys, that was part of my package to the shelves of the tray

I really love the beachy, shabby chic feel to this!

I wanted my next project to be right and fun!
So I used this fun photo of Ty being buried in the sand!

I started by layering the wonderful Graphic 45 Voyage Beneath the Sea papers!

Then I started to color the wonderful flowers!  For this layout I used the same flowers as on my tray and also the DIY- Burlap Medium Sunflower in Ivory.

To color the yellow ones I dabbed the Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade Distress ink on my craft mat, then spritzed with water!
I added some  Heidi Swapp Mustard Color shine spray then dragged the flowers through them to achieve a more dimensional look.

For the bluish ones I used the Colourcraft Brusho Crystal Colors in Turquoise.  I spritzed them with water, added the color crystals, then spritzed them again.

I dried all the flowers, and added some more prills and crushed glitter glass.

Thanks so much for stopping by and thank Cheryl @ Petaloo!  I really enjoyed guesting this month!

Scrap FX guest design!

Good Morning!
I am excited to be guest designing for the wonderful ScrapFX company this month!
Their chipboard designs are awesome!!!

I decided to create 4 layouts....

My first layout I created I used the

Although I love the raw chipboard look I decided to alter them by first spraying them with Lindy's Stamp Gang starburst mist in Time Travel Teal, Then I added some Rusty Patina paint and finally Stampendous crushed black glitter glass....

For the cogs I inked them with black ink then embossed them twice with the Stampendous aged black embossing powder to look like old metal

'Brothers'

I started by layering my kaisercraft paper I was hoarding.....the distressed the edges and added some stenciling with black modeling paste.

The chipboard was perfect for this photo of our sons!

To accent the chipboard more and to add more visual interest I adhered two different colors of prills under the chipboard pieces.
I added a few of the embossed cogs to the steampunk dangle corner
and to the Junkyard Panel

Here is a close up of the Brothers chipboard where I also added a cog above the 'O' for more visual insterest.

My next layout I wanted to do something more soft and romantic so I used the Love Beyond Measure wordlet, Heart Strings, and

To alter these I started by inking the hearts with 'Worn Lipstick' distress ink then embossing them with 'Rose Quartz' embossing powder a couple of times.

Then I added copper liquid pearls

and finally some pink chalk paint

For the title piece I used the chalk paint and the liquid pearls

'Love Beyond Measure'

I started by trimming and layering my papers and adding some doilies that I had misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray.

I added some flower clusters and one of my favorite photos of my husband and I.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my first two Scrap FX projects...I will reveal my next two later this month!
