Father and Son Moments

Hi everyone!
Today I am sharing a layout I created using the Scraps Of Darkness 'Soulshine' kit

I took this photo of Ty and his dad on the day of Ty's graduation...

The photo was full of bright distracting colors so I desaturated the photo so it was more about the subject father and son than the bright colors. I used a stuck sketch

I created the cluster by first using molding paste with a ledger stencil from a previous kit, then sprinkling it with Lindy's Stamp gang Midnight Brown embossing powder also from a previous kit.  I then added some flowers from the main kit and floral add on and a few from previous kits.
I then added some US Artquest Gilt Trip Prills and Prima brads both from the elements add on
To color the doily I misted them with Lindy's Stamp Gang Silhouette Silver moon shadow mist and Black Orchid Silver Starbust mist - also from previous kits.

The main kit as Momenta 6x8 Adhesive Stencils: Beautiful Words that I used with some black modeling paste for the title.

I painted the Blue Fern Studios Turkish Bits with Ken Oliver Crafts Pewter Liquid Metals  from the Color Add on

I love lots of dimension to my layouts!

Sisterly love.....

Hi!
I have two gorgeous granddaughters  - Gina is 4 and Alex is 1....
such beautiful little girls!

They live thousands of miles away - 5033.1 miles to be exact so we don't get to see them grow up but their mom is wonderful and sends us photos all the time and lets us know how they are doing!  She is so sweet!

She sent me this photo a while ago and I love it and when I received my Scraps Of Darkness 'Soulshine' kit I knew I wanted to scrapbook this photo!

What a couple of sweethearts!

I fussy cut the rose from one of the papers and laid it over a doily I misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Bodacious Blush' from an earlier kit.  On the paper roses I used this really cool Art C Victorian Pink Heavy Body Ultra Chalk Soft Matte Paint Tube from the color add on.  I used flowers from the floral add on and main kit.  Those really small cute resin roses are actually Prima brads from the elements add on

I used 3 of the Prima Grungy Butterflies Mechanicals from the elements add on that I covered in the matte pink paint.

I also used a wonderful sketch from SBC...
I rotated it sideways to suit my photo!

Striking color combo....

I LOVE it when the color combination that I use creates drama!
In the Scraps Of Darkness 'Soulshine' kit is the Prima Salvage District papers - they are so yummy and lend themselves well to added pop of color!

I really wanted to use the turquoise blue in this layout to accent the beautiful blue water in the photo.

I used some Lindy's Stamp Gang turquoise mist from a previous kit and The Brush Crystal Colors in Turquoise from the store to color the cheese cloth.  I used the gorgeous Prima flowers from the main kit and a few from my stash....and I added some of the Prima
Ephemera also from the main kit.

I had this title in my stash and I painted it in Shimmerz Dazzlerz Gummy Berry Blue from a previous kit, then added the brusho turquoise powder....looks like water!

'Soulshine'

I LOVE this months kit name
'Soulshine'

I love the kit too...full of so much awesomeness it does make your 'soulshine'

So I created my first layout using the Blue Fern studios Tranquility papers and their sketch this month.

I also used this months Scraps of Darkness/Elegance mood board challenge.

I was inspired by the wood , the blue and the beach!

I created a flower cluster using the new Blue Fern Studios flower and the Prima flowers from the floral add on, added some shells from my stash, a piece of chipboard from a previous kit and I cut the title from one of the papers.

The chipboard I painted with clear gesso, then the Prima Finnabair Art Alchemy Opal Magic Pink Blue Acrylic Paint from the color add on for some shimmer.  Finally I added US Artquest Gilt Trip Prills from the elements add on

I LOVE those flowers!

Here is the sketch I used....
