Grungy Guys Layout

Hi everyone!
I created another layout this week using the Scraps Of Darkness 'Heirloom' kit

I wanted to create a grungy guy layout with the awesome Blue Fern Studios Timeless papers.  I started by using the stencil Crafters workshop 'receipt' stencil from the elements add on
and some black molding paste from a previous kit, dried it then added some watered down gesso.  I then added the Tim Holtz tissue tape, distressed the edges and started layering my papers

I bought the Blue Fern Industrial Corner chipboard from the SOD store, Tim Holtz wings and Prima metal clock are from previous kits.  I covered the piece in black paint (also from a previous kit) then added a crackle medium, and some Prima crushed black glitter glass (previous kit) and some US Artquest Power Outage prills (also from a previous kit)
When everything was dry I brushed over some watered down Silks Acrylic Glaze in Silver Bells (from a previous kit) to highlight the cracks

The Blue Fern Studios lightbulb is  also from the SOD store
and I treated it the same way  as the corner piece

The title piece 'cherish' is from a previous kit and was blue...I sanded it a bit, added the black paint and some Silks Silver Bells acrylic glaze

I also sprayed some cheesecloth with the Lindy's Stamp Gang - Starburst Mist - Black Orchid Silver from the color add on
and tucked it in places.

Love is Timeless

I have been truly blessed in my life...
I have two wonderful boys and husband who adores me and I him.
We are both stubborn, mule headed and passionate and it makes for some interesting discussions (sometimes loud) but it is an awesome kind of love....
Our love is passionate, loud, quiet, sweet, sexy and Timeless...

I created this layout using the Scrap Of Darkness 'Heirloom' kit

I chose the Blue Fern 'Timeless' papers and chipboard.

I created a flower cluster using the flowers from the main kit,
floral add on, and those cute little Craft Consortium Always & Forever resin flowers from the elements add on and some from previous kits.
They were all so pretty but not aged enough for me so I added some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Moonshadow Mist in Moonlit Mulberry from the color add on

I also sprayed some doilies with the mist....

The title is Blue Fern Chipboard from the elements add on and the beaded flourish frame is from the SOD store

I covered them both in sand medium, then sprayed them with Lindy's Stamp Gang Moonshadow Mist in Moonlit Mulberry from the color add on, added
Lindy's Stamp Gang - Two-Toned Embossing Powder - Gilded Burgundy Brass and Midnight Pewter Obsidian from the color add on, and heat set it.

In the main kit is the really cool product - Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops in Antique Rose...it reminds me a lot of liquid pearls but I love the color and thickness....
I wanted it to be imperfect and look aged so I added quite a bit and hoped it would crack and it worked!

My first two layouts using the Heirloom kit!

Hi everyone!
When I got this months kit I was so excited - full of Blue Fern goodies....
Here is my first layout using the Heirloom kit

The little cutie is Ty a couple of years ago

I love the weight of the Blue Fern papers...perfect for distressing and mixed media.  For this layout I used the 'Timeless' papers from the kit

I used one of my stencils and some modeling paste and while the paste was still wet I added some of the
Lindy's Stamp Gang Two-Toned Embossing Powder in Midnight Pewter Obsidian from the color add on, then heat set it.

I fussy cut the title and added my florals from the main kit and floral add on and a key from the main kit and and lock from the elements add on.
I used some watered down gesso on the flowers and the key & lock

The Blue Fern Chipboard is from the store but it is sold out - but there is plenty more to choose from here
I sprayed it with the Lindy's Stamp Gang Moonshadow Mist in Moonlit Mulberry
from the color add on
then add some of the same embossing powder from the stencil, heat set it, added some micro beads from a previous kit and the watered down gesso.
I used this months Blue Fern Sketch that I rotated onto its side!

My next layout is of Cody's school photo this year

For this one I used the yummy 7Dots studio Lost and Found papers from the coordinating paper add on

The stars are  from the store as well and are from Blue Fern.
I sprayed them with Lindy's Rusty Latern Lime mist from a previous kit then added some of the Lindy's Stamp Gang Two-Toned Embossing Powder in Midnight Pewter Obsidian from the color add on, I also wrapped some cord from a previous kit around parts of some of the stars.  I splattered the paper, added micro beads from a previous kit and some gems also from a previous kit.

I love that the title was already on the paper!  I just added a little bit of the watered down gesso and some of the mist, a Tim Holtz sticker from the main kit and a few stars!

Final 'Beloved' project

Good morning everyone!
Every week my mom comes over and we scrapbook for the day.
This week we found a sketch from Stuck?! and decided we would both give it a try! I will upload my moms tomorrow!
I used the really fabulous Beloved kit from Scraps Of Darkness!

For this layout about my wonderful husband and I used the Kaisercraft Mom Cherie papers

I covered the wooden hearts with texture paint from a previous kit and then added some pink beads.
I LOVE those prima flowers!

I did the same treatment to the gorgeous Blue Fern chipboard!

I sprayed the heart doily and the other doily with Lindy's mist from a previous kit.

Here is the sketch

Love and Laughter!

Hi!
Today I wanted to share one of my final layouts using the Scraps Of Darkness  'Beloved' kit

My hubby can always make me giggle

For this layout I used the Graphic 45 'Mon Amour' papers from the kit.

I sprayed a doily black for a little more drama

I fussy cut the saying from the paper and put it under a gorgeous frame from ScrapFX
and that cool title is also from them!
I inked them with a black ink pad then used black and red embossing powder to add some visual interest.

I made the flower cluster with flowers from the kit, floral add on and some from previous kits!

I also fussy cut some of the diamonds from the paper.
The hearts are from the kit and I inked them with the worn lipstick ink from the color add on and then embossed them with the ranger rose quartz.

Thanks for stopping by!

More projects with the 'Beloved' kit

Hi everyone!

I am have been really enjoying with the 'Beloved' kit from
Scraps Of Darkness!

Although my granddaughters live  over 3,000 miles away their mom is wonderful at sending me photos!

TheG45 Mom Amour papers were perfect for this photo!

I used the flowers from the main kit and the floral add on.  The green leaves on the Prima flowers were a little too bright green for me so I used the Tim Holtz ink in forest moss from a previous kit on a make up sponge to enhance the color a bit. To add alittle more depth I inked the edges of the flowers and the doiley with the Ranger Worn Lipstick from the color add on and the Staz On black cherry from a previous kit

The wonderful blue fern chipboard is from the elements add on.
I inked it with the  Ranger Worn Lipstick from the Color add on, then added the Ranger Rose Quartz embossing powder also from the color add on, then to add a little more I added the aged black embossing enamel also from a previous kit.

I created a small cluster with a small piece of doily and a few flowers.  I punched the edge of the paper and added a few BoBunny pearls!

I also made a romantic card!

For this card I used the G45 Mon Amour papers.

I cut the journaling prompt from the papers, added some Bo Bunny gems and a few flowers and black ribbon

The inside!

I had to spruce up the envelope too!
