More from the Scraps Of Darkness 'Karens Valentine' kit

Good morning everyone!
Today I wanted to share a couple of projects I made with the
Scraps Of Darkness 'Karen's Valentine Kit'

This first one I made for a dear friends birthday...
this is her and her wonderful family...

'Love'

I bought the frame from a craft store, then painted it black, added crackled medium, then painted it bone.  I then added the papers to the base!

For the title I sprayed the chippie from Blue Fern with the Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Stain Spray in Fired Brick from the color add on, allowed to dry, then with my finger painted the Ranger Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paint in Sky and finally added the
Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Glitter in Fired Brick

I made most of the flowers and die cut the leaves.

I used the beautiful butterflies from the elements add on

I made the bricks and highlighted them with the
Ranger Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paint in Sky

I fussy cut the hot air balloon from one of the patterned papers!

My next project is of our oldest....

'A Moment in Time'

I love this photo of Cody!

I used the flowers from the floral add on and main kit, the Fabscraps clock face, and Tim Holtz mini metal gears, the Blue Fern Studios Chipboard - Spare Parts and the Maya Road metal feathers

I used the deco art black molding paste and my clock stencil and
layered the really beautiful gold lace

I cut a bunch of papers layered them.

Well thanks for stopping by!

My new Scraps Of Darkness projects!

Hi everyone!
It's getting closer to the weekend and I am looking forward to having some relax time....

I opened up my kit from Scraps Of Darkness and was so excited by what I saw!
I LOVE working with reds!

So here is my first project...

This is of our my awesome hubby & I

I used the beautiful Carta Bella papers that were in the kit!

I made a few of the flowers and the others are from the kit and floral add on!
The large red ones are made from coffee filters I sprayed with the distress stain from the color add on

The title I thought was perfect for this photo...I was really inspired by this months mood board challenge...romantic and of course this is where I got the title!

My next layout is of my oldest Cody and his two best friends....

these guys are always together!  They are good kids!!!

I did lots of layers and made it a bit whimsical using the Bo Bunny star crossed papers from the kit

The leaves were green so it clashed with the layout I think
so I sprayed them with the Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Stain Spray in Fired Brick from the color add on, then added some of the Ranger Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paint in Sky, then the
Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Glitter in Fired Brick.

I made the red bloom and also added the distress glitter to it too!

Thanks for stopping by!

A beautiful moment between father and daughter

Good morning everyone....Laura here to share a layout
I created about my wonderful stepson and his beautiful daughter
When I saw this photo I knew I wanted to create a layout that captured the sentiment of the beautiful moment between father and daughter.....

I kept the layout soft and sweet....

I LOVE the Leaky Shed Studio picket fence and it fit this layout perfectly!

to create this effect of a cracked mossy old distressed fence I painted it grey, let it dry then applied crackle medium.  When the medium was dry I added some bone colored paint.  I let that dry and randomly inked with 'peeled paint' distress ink.  I randomly added some gesso and distress stickles!

I added the title and some flowers dabbed with gesso - both bought and handmade, to create a soft cluster.

With the Willow flower I wanted to keep it soft but not cracked like the fence.

I painted it with gesso, then layered different colors of mists, added some embossing powders and the ink!

the ribbon  I misted with the same mist from the edges of the white handmade flowers and the doilies!
