Weathered and Worn kit from Scraps Of Darkness!

When we saw Fabscraps' Industrial Chic collection, we just couldn't resist!  We matched it with some beautiful Marion Smith Designs Garment District, a little Teresa Collins Life Emporium, some gorgeous Blue Fern chipboard, and Melissa Frances' Glamour and Grunge for a kit you can take in so many different directions!  Go girly with the Fabscraps Wood Chic papers and the Blue Fern chipboard... go rustic with the Teresa Collins and Darice Craft Designer Jute!  How about a little shabby chic with the Fabscraps Paint Chic Papers, Maya Road Bird in a Circle Charms, and Magnolia Ruffled Cherry Blossoms?  So many possibilities, so little time...  If you want to see the full list of what's included or pick up this beauty for yourself, just stop by our store.

And we think we came up with the perfect Creativity Add On to compliment this month's main kit...

Is that a wood pallet?!  Yes it is!  It's Walnut Hollow's Rustic Wood Pallet (11.5" x 11"), and we've got a wonderful 6x9 stencil from Art Anthology - Cracked, along with some brand new white Milk Paint from Imaginisce, and there are a few other goodies tucked in there, as shown in the pic.  Imagine the beautiful wall hanging you could create!

My First Leaky Shed Layout!!!!

Hey everyone!
I am so excited to share my very first Leaky Shed Studio creation!
After receiving my first package of gorgeous chipboard I was stoked to create this layout of my hubby & I

I love texture and dimension on my projects and
the awesome Leaky Shed chipboard pieces were the perfect embellishment!

Here I used the Gear set amongst my cluster!

Here is a close up of the texture and color

I used gesso, sand gel and mists to create the effect
on both the gears & the 'Cowboy' & the barbed wire border

Another layout from the Believe kit

Morning everyone!

I love this kit - it is so fun and bright!

So I tried a fun and bright layout about my beautiful granddaughter!

I did a lot of fussy cutting of the wonderful Bo Bunny papers

I fussy cut the sign and the gnome and added the reindeer moss for texture

I also fussy cut a fairy and added a nest from the embellishment add on.  I used the flowers from the floral add on and I used a mushroom from my stash that I gessoed then sprayed with the mists from the color add on and added the dots using the dimensionz.  I did not want perfect circles on the mushrooms so I used my heat gun to dry and texturize the paint. I also added more of the moss

another cluster.....

lots of dimension!

My First layout with the 'Believ' kit

Hi everyone!

Today I get to show you my first layout with the beautiful 'Believe' kit
from Scraps Of Darkness!

The texture in the background I used the Teresa Collins mask from a SOE kit and some molding paste - used the fabulous inklingz in the 'I'm not Lim On' and 'Beets Me' that came in this SOD kit and some Dylusions slate grey mist from a previous SOD kit.

The beautiful Prima resin frame I sprayed with a few mists so it compliments the layout

I used the fabulous mood board from the SOD/SOE monthly challenge for inspiration
Everyone can enter - you do not have to use one of our kits - just be inspired by the images!

I fussy cut all the flowers out of the wonderful Kaisercraft paper

and I used lots of foam dots to add dimesion

and I used the title from the mood board - it really suited the photo

Big Blog Tour Nomination!

I was nominated as a creative blogger by an uber talented and super sweet scrapbook friend Lisa Novogrodski We are joining up as a chain of fun blog hop tours where so many of us will get to meet new bloggers, get new inspiration and connect with blogs that will open up our creativity. This hop is sure to get your mojo going!

Here are my 4 questions that need to be answered before I pass along my nominations. I'll give you my answers then lead you to 3 amazing artists you will love visiting!

1. What am I working on?

At the moment I am working on some altered letters for a friends wedding - I can''t show you because the bride and groom hasn't even seen them yet lol!

I am also starting on my design team stuff for Scraps of Darkness - oh man this kit is yummy! I can not wait to show you my layouts!
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

Not sure if my work is that different - I love to distress and layer and use lots of mixed media stuff!

3. Why do I create what I do?
I am truly blessed with an amazing family!  I love that I get to record all of our memories.  My family is the focus of my life, my inspiration, and my motivation to scrapbook
4. How does your creative process work?
It varies - if it is for a design team project - I start with the product, then the photo and then I will usually sketch something out or if there is a technique I have been wanting to try and there is product in the kit then I start there! Sometimes inspiration will strike me as soon as I look at the product and I have to sit down and get going!
If it is for myself I usually start with the photo then find the papers etc.
Now onto my nominees

Tracey Gregory - Not only she is beyond creative, and uber talented she is also one of the sweetest and nicest people you will ever meet.  She has a wonderful style of scrapbooking and I am often in awe of her work!!!  Her love for her family always shows through her designs.  I have been blessed by her friendship.

Monica Lowrance - She is so much fun and it shows in her creativity!  Her passion for creativity is infectious and her style is eclectic!  She is on a few design teams (including recently the Art Anthology Team - way to go buddy) and I was lucky enough to work with her on a couple!

Sandi Clarkson - Sandi is one of the nicest people I know, she really is - she always has a nice word to say or words of encouragement and her creativity is off the charts!  She has a wonderful shabby chic style with beautiful mixed media elements!  Her layouts are always gorgeous!
