Flying Unicorn Make it work! Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Flying Unicorn Make it Work! Blog Hop. We’re so happy that you’ve joined us! The Hop starts at the Flying Unicorn blog, so if you didn’t start there, hop on over to this link and get started so that you don’t miss anything! I’ll see you back here in a bit!
First I want to share with you this layout that I did just for this blog hop.

For my designer I chose Rodeo Ben, an innovator for wrangler jeans ~ because without him, these jeans would not look as good on my hubby as they do!

Wrangler Jeans were first made by Blue Bell, who acquired the brand when they took over Casey Jones in the mid-1940s. Blue Bell employed Bernard Lichtenstein ('Rodeo Ben'), a Polish tailor from Łódź who worked closely with cowboys, to help design jeans suitable for rodeo use. This was the origin of Wrangler Jeans. The 13MWZ style, (MWZ stands for “men’s Western zipper”) introduced in 1947 as lot number 11MWZ, is still available worldwide The pockets are positioned high in the back so that riders don’t sit on their wallets, and the belt loops are set a little wider in front to accommodate a championship buckle. They are made with flat rivets that do not scratch saddles and large zippers that riders can handle with gloves. The tapered legs fit tightly over boots so that they don’t drag like the flared “boot cut” jeans, which have little to do with practicing cowboys; and the inseam is four to six inches longer than the norm so that when a rider is in the saddle, the bottom of the jeans sits just so on the top of the foot.

There is a reason that the Creative Team members are all featuring fashion on their blogs during this hop. This is just a preview of the fun we are going to have in March during our Haute Couture at the Unicorn Ritz challenges! Wait until you see the OTP project, it is so fabulous. Hmmmm, what is haute couture, anyway? “The term "haute couture" is French. Haute means "high" or "elegant." Couture literally means "sewing," but has come to indicate the business of designing, creating, and selling custom-made, high fashion women's clothes.
To be called a haute couture house, a business must belong to the Syndical Chamber for Haute Couture in Paris, which is regulated by the French Department of Industry. Members must employ 15 or more people and present their collections twice a year. Each presentation must include at least 35 separate outfits for day and eveningwear." (For more information see What is Haute Couture by David Johnson. http://www.infoplease.com/spot/fashionside1.html)

Hi Laura,

Now I have to say that I never thought Wrangler's could look soooo good. Your layout is fantastic and says it all about the design. Oh I remember those days of looking at wrangler's as just jeans but your layout puts a whole new perspective on this one!

Beautiful layout Laura!
